La Pastora comes from the Tarrazú cooperative – a long-established coffee producers’ cooperative based in the Tarrazú / Los Santos region of Costa Rica.
The coffee grows at fairly high altitude – typically 1,200 – 1,900 metres above sea level which qualifies much of it as “Strictly Hard Bean (SHB)” — a mark of dense, high-quality beans.
The Arabica varietals used in our La PAstor coffee ar Catuai and Villa Sarchi Bourbon.
Processing is washed (wet-processed), which is the classic method for many Tarrazú coffees, giving clarity and cleanliness to the cup.
Because of altitude, soil, climate and processing, La Pastora is regarded as a “classic” Costa Rican high-grown Arabica popular for its balance, clarity, and reliable quality.
