La Majada coffee comes from the area around Cooperativa de Cafetaleros de San José La Majada de R.L. – a cooperative of smallholder farmers in the department of Sonsonate, El Salvador.
The coffees are typically grown at altitudes around 1,400–1,700 metres above sea level (or slightly variation depending on the lot) – giving bean density and the potential for good flavour clarity.
Because of altitude, soil, cooperative-scale farming, and careful processing, La Majada coffees are considered among the more consistent, “specialty-grade” Salvadoran beans.
